Resident Safety
Chestnut Grove can provide basic nursing care for a short period of time, i.e. when a resident becomes unwell. Chestnut Grove is not able to provide nursing care in the long term. Particularly during the night as there is only one ‘waking’ member of staff on duty and one member of staff ‘sleeping in’. The criteria for this is that we are able to meet the assessed needs of the person and this is based on the individual care plan.
A call system is provided throughout the home and residents can have a ‘buzzer mat’ for use in their room during the night.
A fire alarm system is operational throughout the home with detectors in each room. Fire fighting equipment and fire alarm points are strategically placed throughout the home. All staff receives regular training with regard to fire prevention and fire procedure. Chestnut Grove has a NO SMOKING policy within the building.
